Komarov Botanical Institute RAS in 2014 celebrated its 300th anniversary. One of the signs of the importance of this date is that it was included in the calendar of significant events of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

The midday cannon shot Naryshkin bastion of the Peter and Paul fortress to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the Komarov Botanical Institute RAS
Press conference in the Assembly Hall of the Botanical Institute V.L. Komarov Russian Academy of Sciences, dedicated to the announcement of anniversary events and a brief historical information about the formation of the Botanical Garden and the establishment of the Botanical Institute on its basis. It was attended by the management of the Botanical Institute and the Garden, as well as foreign scientists, including Professor Hans-Walter Lack - the Head of the scientific relations department of the Dahlem Centre of Plant Sciences Botanical Garden and the Botanical Museum.

International scientific conference "Botany: history, theory, practice".
762 people from 23 countries of the world took part in the conference: Abkhazia, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Brazil, Great Britain, Germany, Georgia, Israel, China, Lithuania, Macedonia, Moldova, Mongolia, Poland, Russia, Slovakia, USA, Uzbekistan, France, Switzerland, South Africa.
As a result of the conference, a collection of works was published on the priority areas of modern botany, including aspects of plant protection, as well as world trends in the development of botanical gardens.

The ceremonial meeting dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the Komarov Botanical Institute RAS, where the director of the Komarov Botanical Institute RAS V. Yarmishko, as well as his deputies for science D. Geltman and A. Kovalenko made reports. Then, outstanding employees of the Institute were awarded with memorable awards. The Institute was congratulated by representatives of Russian and foreign scientific institutions.
