A new species of the genus Astragalus (section Dissitiflori, Fabaceae) from Turkmenistan

Abstract

A new species Astragalus rustamovii A. V. Pavlenko et Laktionov from the section Dissitiflori DC. was discovered on the piedmont plain separating the Lesser Balkhan Range and Karakum Desert (Turkmenistan). This species differs from closely related taxa A. juratzkanus Freyn et Sint., A. juratzkanus subsp. brotherusii (Freyn et Sint.) Podlech and others by a set of morphological features (habit, ratio of peduncle and leaf lengths, flower details).
