International conference «Classification and dynamics of forests of the Far East» (Vladivostok, 5—7 September 2001)

The conference was organized by Institute of Biology and soil Institute RAS with participation of the Primorsky branch of the BSR and with the support of the Committee on natural resources of the administration of Primorsky territory and Committee of natural resources of the Russian Federation. The conference was attended by over 100 domestic scientists and specialists. The abstracts published in the book «Classification and dynamics of forests of the Far East: proceedings of the international conference» (Vladivostok, Russia, 2001. S. 367).

The main report on the problem of classification of forest vegetation and forest typology did Yuri I. Manko. He noted that in the Russian far East based on ideas from B. A. Ivashkevich and B. P. Kolesnikov has developed a distinctive genetic (geographic and genetic, but rather, dynamic) trend in forest typology.
