Annotation

In 2010 celebrated its 125^th anniversary of the Swiss scientific center — Institute of forest, snow and landscape (WSL — the first letters of the German words Wald (forest), Schnee (snow), Landschaft (landscape)). Such a unique research center could only have been born in Switzerland, where features of highland landscape has led to a close relationship and interdependence of forests and snow.
