1986 – graduated from the Faculty of Biology and Soil Science of Kazan State University.
1995 – Applicant for the degree of candidate of biological sciences (Ph.D.) of the Laboratory of Lichenology and Bryology of Komarov Botanical Institute RAS under the guidance of prof. N.S. Golubkova.
1997 – Ph.D. (Candidate of Science in Biology), Komarov Botanical Institute RAS. Specialty - 03.00.05 - mycology. Thesis topic: «Lichens of the Baikal Nature Reserve».

1986 – Senior Laboratory Assistant, and then – Research Scientist of the Baikal State Natural Biosphere Reserve.
