- Study of the diversity of vascular plants and vegetation cover of the Far North of Russia, local and regional floras, and their parameters.
- Comprehensive analysis of the parameters of local and regional floras of the Russian Arctic and Subarctic based on the network of local floras.
- Identification of trends in changes in the structure of local and regional floras.
- Spatial differentiation of vegetation cover and floristic zoning of the northern territories.
- Long-term monitoring (tracking changes) of the local flora of the northern regions.
- Study of the state of vegetation cover and the degree of its disturbance under anthropogenic and natural influences, problems of restoration of disturbed habitats and overgrowth of anthropogenic habitats.
- Identification of species and communities in need of protection.
